Topps, Upper Deck line up star cards for FanFest

Topps and Upper Deck, the two companies licensed to produce Major League Baseball cards, will have redemption programs at FanFest 2008, July 11-15, at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City.

Topps has eight cards in its wrapper redemption program lineup.

Fans and collectors opening three packs of 2008 Topps/Bowman branded baseball cards at the Topps booth will receive an exclusive FanFest Topps card. There eight cards that will be available throughout the entirety of show are:

3 of 8 Alex Rodriguez, New York Yankees
4 of 8 David Wright, New York Mets
5 of 8 Lou Gehrig, New York Yankees

7 of 8 Mickey Mantle, New York Yankees
8 of 8 Johan Santana, New York Mets

Once again Topps will also offer a special 2008 Topps baseball set in a commemorative 2008 All-Star box. That set will include five exclusive Yankee Legends cards (cards 1-5).

5. Thurman Munson
Plus those who buy the set at FanFest will receive an additional five-card set, produced just for the 2008 All-Star FanFest.

Upper Deck’s redemption program includes a 20-card base set along with radomly inserted autographed cards of Derek Jeter and Don Mattingly.
Collectors who purchase five packs of any 2008 UD baseball product with an SRP of at least $1.99 can exchange the wrappers for a four-card set each day. Here’s the complete checklist and the days cards willbe available:
